The Breitling Navitimer Super 8
The Breitling Navitimer Super 8 may have just made its appearance at Baselworld, However the watch is steeped in a rich history.Inspired by the reference 637, a stopwatch that was strapped to bomber pilot’s thighs during WW2, the Navitimer Super 8 expresses the same distinctive, practical design elements in a bold wristwatch.
Admired for their lightweight cases and ease of installation, the reference 637 allowed bomber pilots to perform highly precise missions with little room for error. Although modern day wearers of the Navitimer Super 8 will not be subject to the same harsh conditions as WW2 pilots, the watch offers the same precise timing as its inspiration.
Available in either titanium or stainless steel, the watch features a screw case back that matches the case metal. The titanium model has a military green dial, while the stainless steel model has a black dial. Both version are presented with a brown NATO leather strap. The Navitimer diameter is an impressive 46mm, however with the bi-directional Bezel, the watch diameter reaches 50mm. Staying true to tradition, the crown remains on the left side, this allows for maximum comfort. The Navitimer is powered by the Manufacturer Caliber B20, an automatic movement that offers an impressive power reserve of over 70 hours.
The Navitimer is a perfect embodiment of Breitling's legendary future.
