The Weeknd & Daft Punk Release Video For "I Feel It Coming"

The Weeknd and Daft Punk team up once again and release a retro themed music video for their latest hit “I Feel It Coming”.

The video, directed by Warren Fu, has a vintage look to it,  reminiscent of the videos from the 1980’s. The Weeknd takes the “Starboy” theme to full extent on this one as he sings and dances he way across the outskirts of a distant planet no different from the one seen in Total Recall.

If The Weeknd’s military jacket isn’t enough proof that Michael Jackson was the influence for the song,  Warren Fu even implements the signature split screen effect into the video, taken right from MJ’s Billy Jean.

This is not the first time the duo link up, Daft Punk also produced on “Starboy”, the title track from the Weekend latest LP. The Weekend has had a consistent run of videos since the release of his album. It all began with “MANIA”, a short film comprised of several songs off the LP including: Sidewalks, Secrets, and All I Know.  MANIA’s colours, themes, and violent imagery set the tone for the later videos, which all tie into one narrative.  A narrative that seems to come to a close in “ I Feel It Coming”.
