The Stradale, first built in 1967, was based on the Autodelta Alfa Romeo T33 racing car. The car, designed by Franco Scaglione, and built by Carrozzeria Marazzi, made its debut at the 1967 Turin Motorshow.Regarded as one of the most beautifully designed car of all-time, this 1967 Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 Stradale Continuation is one of very few 33's in the world, of which there were only 18 originals ever produced. Designed by Franco Scaglione in the 1960's to re-enter the Alfa brand into endurance sports car racing, the street legal version is made with an aluminium body on aluminium tubular chassis.
The body was Aluminum construction so was the aluminium tubular chassis, The power plant was a 230 bhp 2-litre V8 aluminum the car weight was only 700KG made it Hell on wheels.
It was also the first production vehicle to feature butterfly doors.
Built in an attempt by Alfa to make some of its racing technology available to the public, it was the most expensive automobile for sale to the public in 1968 at US$17,000.
