Panerai Radiomir 1940 3 days
The Radiomir 1940 3 Days GMT Oro Rosso embodies simplicity, sophistication and quality in both design and function. First worn by commanders in the Italian Navy, The Radiomir 1940 is a testament to Panerai’s robust craftsmanship and attention to detail. The company is known for creating watches with incredible night time visibility and clarity. This limited edition release means just 300 timepieces will be produced.
The watch is 47mm in diameter and made of 5nPt red gold. Panerai says this alloy has a, “higher percentage of copper than usual and a small amount of platinum which helps to minimize the oxidation of the case.” The gold bezel encases a dark brown watch face with gold dials, hands and accents. The seconds hand rotates in the small counter at nine o’clock, while the arrow-shaped central hand can be used to indicate a second time zone, hence the engraved letters “GMT”. Holding the Oro Rosso is a brown alligator strap with a gold buckle.
At the back of the face, you can see the watch movements thanks to an open design concept. Adding to the Oro Rosso’s functionality is its performance under water, it works at 50 meters below sea level. The Oro Rosso will retail for $22,800 for anyone fortunate enough to get 1 of just 300.
