For fall/winter 2014, I met with Louis Hechter, L’Oréal Professionnel hairstylist expert and owner of Orbite Salon in Montreal. He has created four hairstyles THAT ARE inspired by wearable street style. The looks are natural, polished, and easy to replicate.

Style: The Cool Brushed Back

[dropcap size=big]H[/dropcap]ow to achieve this look? Suitable for medium to long hair that is straight or wavy. If you have short hair, you’ll have to let your locks grow. You’ll know it’s long enough when the hair from the top of your head reaches below the top of your ears. Treat yourself to this haircut to get texture and movement, while keeping a maximum length.

To avoid unruly hair and create definition, rub a small amount of L’Oréal Professionnel Techni.Art Stiff pomade between your hands and apply to damp or dry hair.

L’Oréal Professionnel Techni.Art Stiff pomade $24 exclusively in salons.

Style: Brit Indie

[dropcap size=big]H[/dropcap]ow to achieve this look? Easy to wear and suitable for most hair types: from super fine to thick, straight or wavy. Your hair should be long on top to get a nice forehead fringe. Your sides should be military short but long enough to pinch between your fingers so that it blends into the longer top length.

Towel-dry your hair and style it with (start with a small amount and add more if necessary) Shu Uemera essence absolue oil-in-cream to get that textured messy look you’ve been eyeing.

Shu Uemera essence absolue oil-in-cream $69 exclusively in salons.

Style: Casual and Long

[dropcap size=big]H[/dropcap]ow to achieve this look? If your hair is thinning, do not try to pull off long hair. Once your hair reaches your shoulders, go in for a haircut to manage split ends and ask for a light layering for texture and movement.

To get shine and definition apply one or two dabs of Dual Stylers Liss & Pump-up cream-gel on damp hair. Follow by blow-drying hair from the roots with your fingers.

L’Oréal Professionnel Techni.Art Dual Stylers Liss & Pump-up $26 sold exclusively in salons.
