5 Of The Best TV Shows To Watch
Networks like HBO, AMC and Netflix have been wowing audiences with amazing content, here is a list of great shows you need to watch.
House Of Cards
The Netflix original House Of Cards is a political drama/thriller starring Kevin Spacey. The series tells us the story of White House senator Frank Underwood, a charming and manipulative master strategist who ascends through the government ranks. The show gives audiences a look into the underworld of politics and corruption, yet manages to squeeze in some dark comedy. The combination of witt, suspense and humour all the while commenting on the political landscape make it an absolute pleasure to follow.
Game Of Thrones
Who hasn't heard of Game of Thrones? No one, that's who. George R.R. Martins critically acclaimed fantasy novel series has been transformed into a critically acclaimed TV series airing on HBO. The story and its characters are so vast and complex that trying to explain it would be a disservice to its greatness. Love, hatred, action, death, deception, magic, dragons, what else do you need? If you have not read the books or watched the show, I highly recommend you do both as soon as possible.
AMC's Mad Men takes us to 1960's Manhattan, into the luxurious and troubled life of Don Draper (Jon Hamm), an Ad Man working for a large and successful advertising firm. He's always in a suit, drinking good liquor, smoking cigarettes and sleeping with too many women. But there is much more to Don Draper than what he lets on. The show explores the lives of Don and his colleagues, raising questions about life, love, work, and everything in between.
The Walking Dead
Zombies and crossbows, I bet you like this show already. It's like a never ending kick-ass zombie film. Originally a series of graphic novels, The Walking Dead has been insanely successful in creating a world where humans need to fight for survival against the undead, and other humans. Taking place in the post-apocalytpic south of the US, the show follows police officer Rick Grimes and his struggle to survive and understand why and how the world went to hell. If you like action, zombies, samurai swords and lots of gore, this is obviously what you need in your life.
If you have never watched Breaking Bad, you have probably had to spend many nights with friends who did not want to speak to you. Breaking Bad has been hailed as one of the greatest television series ever made, and rightfully so. Walter White (Bryan Cranston) is an over qualified chemistry teacher who just found out he has terminal lung cancer. What would any chemistry teacher do in that situation? Cook crystal meth with a former student and sell it for a lot of cash, that's what. If that's not enough to get you watching, nothing is. Watch this show, now. Go.
